Unusual transorbital-penetrating intracranial injury by a metal bar: A case report

Introduction: The orbit has a fine bony structure and represents the most vulnerable in cranium. Therefore, penetrating orbital injuries are often associated with traumatic brain injury. Although transorbital-penetrating intracranial injury is not commonly encountered emergency medicine practice, this occurrence potential to cause severe fatal 
 Case Report: In study, we report case of 21-year-old male patient presented an his left orbit, caused by falling while holding metal bar. A Local examination revealed perforating at entry location metallic bar (S-shaped) that penetrated orbit. CT imaging showed appearance foreign body entered anterior superior passed into half frontal sinus, extended area. was removed craniotomy. fully recovered discharged on postoperative 9th day. Conclusion: penetration bodies through orbitofrontal region rare but potentially life-threatening. An emergent surgical initiative necessary save life patient. When managed timely efficient manner, mortality morbidity can be reduced.
